Cross-country skiing trails

If you are keen on cross-country skiing, then Suchá Rudná is the right place for you. The Jeseníky mountains offer up to 450 km of groomed cross-country skiing trails. In the surroundings of Vrbno pod Pradědem there are 53 kilometers of groomed trails situated below Vysoká hora in direction to Annaberg, Suchá Rudná and Hvězda, all suitable for sports trainings as well as leisure time skiing. The trails are well marked with tourist or local signs. The trails start in Vrbno at the car park near the lift in the Žižkova street where there is also an information board. Other signboard is at the entrance to the forest, above the lift. In Andělská Hora it is possible to join the trail at the church on Anenský vrch. The trails are regularly groomed with a snow groomer and three snowmobiles at least once a week, always on Friday. If it is snowing the trails are groomed daily. The grooming of cross-country skiing trails is subsided by the Moravian-Silesian Region and is carried out by the Secondary School of Sports in Vrbno pod Pradědem.

From Karlov there are many skiing trails in direction to Alfrédka – Jelení hřbet or directly to the higher located ski area at Praděd. 70 kilometers of skiing trails are regularly groomed.

Cross-country skiing routes near Suchá Rudná

Route no. 1: Andělská Hora – Suchá Rudná

Start on the red marked trail at the church on Anenský vrch, at Anenská myslivna turn and take yellow to Malá Hvězda, from Malá Hvězda take blue down the hill to Suchá Rudná, the route continues to Malá Morávka.

Route no. 2: Andělská Hora – Vrbno pod Pradědem

Start on the red marked trail at the church on Anenský vrch, past Anenská myslivna straight on to the ski area in Vrbno pod Pradědem. It is possible to follow the blue trail further through Ludvíkov to Malá Hvězda and further to Karlova Studánka.

Route no. 3: Andělská Hora – Hvězda

Start on the red marked trail at the church on Anenský vrch, at Anenská myslivna turn and take yellow, follow yellow signs to Hvězda. It is possible to follow the blue trail further to Karlova Studánka and Vrbno pod Pradědem.

Route no. 4: Circle around Anenská myslivna

Start on red at the church on Anenský vrch, at Anenská myslivna turn and take yellow, after about two kilometers turn right to red and back to the lodge.

Route no. 5: Trails on meadows in Suchá Rudná

Start in the ski area of Suchá Rudná, there you will see groomed skiing trails on the meadows in direction to Malá Morávka.
